LIFEGUARDS

All lifeguards must be at least 15 years old and possess or be willing to obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Guards must also be willing and able to teach swim lessons. Guards report to the head lifeguard and General Manager. Lifeguarding is a variable hour position. Hours change weekly and will include days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. The head lifeguard is responsible for making the schedule but guards themselves are responsible for their shift. Guards must find their own substitutes if necessary and inform the head lifeguard of any changes to the schedule.


Expectations:



-Ensure the safety of all members and guests by having a working knowledge of the pool rules as well as the ability to enforce those rules.

-Guards should be courteous and friendly to members but social talking is not permitted while the guard is on duty.

-Anytime a person is in the pool a guard must be on the guard stand. Guard positions are divided into three stations, deep, shallow and rover, and must be rotated every 15 minutes.

-Effectively respond to emergency situations by performing lifesaving procedures when necessary. Accident/incident reports must be filled out for any injury. The head lifeguard should be told about all incidents and the report given to the General Manager.  

-Maintain a clean pool and pool area both during your shift as well as when the pool closes. Daily duties include but not limited to picking up trash and other debris, cleaning the men’s and women’s locker rooms, picking up and stacking pool furniture, scrubbing pool tiles and brushing pool walls and ensuring the pool area is locked up before leaving. 

-Promote SGCC programs and provide information

FRONT DESK RECEPTIONISTS

A front desk receptionist is responsible for providing superior customer service to members and guests, conducting facility tours as well as receiving and directing phone calls. Front desk personnel also monitor access to the club, handle cash/ credit card transactions, and event registration. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school education. Customer service experience is a plus but not required. This is a variable hour position with hours being days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Front desk personnel may be required to sit or stand for periods of time, with bending, crouching and twisting occasionally required. This position reports to the front desk supervisor and general manager.


Expectations:



-Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a positive and friendly attitude.

-Able to perform multiple functions and handle customers at the same time.

-Be highly motivated and able to take direction as well as work productively without constant supervision.

-Able to handle cash/credit accurately and provide change when necessary 

-Maintain a clean work area as well as assisting in maintaining overall cleanliness of the lobby.

GROUNDS CREW

Grounds crew members are responsible for the cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds on the golf course and around the clubhouse. This position requires early morning to early afternoon hours. Some weekends may be required. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and posses a valid driver’s license in order to operate equipment. Normal job functions for this position require the ability to bend, twist, crouch and stand for periods of time, also to lift/push objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Knowledge of golf is a plus but not required. Grounds crew members report to the General Manager. 


Expectations:


-Perform all tasks in a safe manner by using tools as they are intended.

-Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 Lbs

-Walk or stand for extended periods of time

-Work well with others in a team environment as well as able as independently.

-Be on time and ready to work in early mornings

-Ability to understand and follow both oral and written instructions.

SNACK BAR ATTENDANTS

The snack bar attendant must be at least 15 years old and have the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner. This position requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions as well as the ability to lift/push objects weighing 30 lbs. An attendant must have the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, as well as converse comfortably with customers. Cash handling and customer service experience preferred but not required. This is a non-exempt position and typically reports to the General Manager.


Expectations:



-Attendants are responsible for completing customer transactions, cleaning the food and stock areas, maintaining inventory, as well as performing any other responsibilities as directed by management.

-Greet customers, provide information and take food orders

-Operate cash register and receive payment from customer in cash or credit and provide change when necessary.

-Moves, lifts and restocks food and beverage products and supplies.

-Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating and checking temperature of products.

-Clean and sanitizes work station, equipment and lobby area.
